President Gordon B. Hinckley

1910 - 2008

I was so sad to hear of President Hinckley's passing last night. I consider him my Prophet, as he is the one whom I have known since I can remember. Though I may be sad, I am grateful above all. He was such an amazing influence in my life and in the lives of so many others, and I will forever hold him dear to my heart.

In the April 1, 2006 Sunday morning conference session, President Hinckley bore his testimony. I have never been able to read through it without having chills run throughout my body and tears streaming down my face. I hope that you all can read through it and remember what an amazing man he was.

“I hope that all of you will remember that on this Sabbath day you heard me bear my witness that this is God’s holy work. The vision given the Prophet Joseph in the grove of Palmyra was not an imaginary thing. It was real. It occurred in the broad light of day. Both the Father and the Son spoke to the boy. He saw Them standing in the air above him. He heard Their voices. He gave heed to Their instruction.

“It was the resurrected Lord who was introduced by His Father, the great God of the universe. For the first time in recorded history, both the Father and the Son appeared together to part the curtains and open this, the last and final dispensation, the dispensation of the fullness of times.

“The Book of Mormon is all that it purports to be—a work recorded by prophets who lived anciently and whose words have come forth “to the convincing of the Jew and Gentile that Jesus is the Christ, the Eternal God, manifesting himself unto all nations” (Book of Mormon title page).

“The priesthood has been restored under the hands of John the Baptist and Peter, James, and John. All the keys and authority pertaining to eternal life are exercised in this Church.

“Joseph Smith was and is a prophet, the great Prophet of this dispensation. This Church, which carries the name of the Redeemer, is true.

“I leave you my testimony, my witness, and my love for each of you, in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.” President Gordon B. Hinckley

Thank you President Hinckley for the great influence you were, and will continue to be in my life.

Sledding with the Devey's in Alpine

On Saturday we went with the Devey Family to Alpine and went sledding at Marilyn & Richard's. We got all bundled up and jumped on the four wheelers. The first thing we (just us, not the Devey's) did was got stuck trying to make the turn into the back yard... Oops! Once we got unstuck we drove around for a little bit packing down the snow. When we had it pretty well packed down, we pulled out the sleds at the top of the hill and started sledding.

It was so much fun!! I haven't been sledding since I was in my teens! It was a blast. Landon loved the snow and as you can probably tell from the slide show, Carter really didn't love it all that much. We took turns taking the boys down the hill and loved every minute of it. Especially when Landon would squeel with excitement.

Alivia was so cute and took Landon for a ride down the hill too, and once they were at the bottom she left Landon on the sled and pulled with all her might to get him back up the hill. It was so cute to see her pulling that sled.

Shelley and I even took a couple of belly runs. It was great! The boys however, tried to ski/snowboard sled down the hill. They did pretty good, that was until they had to bail off before they plowed through poor Shelley taking pictures at the bottom.

After we all were through sledding Trent tied a sled to the back of the four wheeler and pulled us around. It was so much fun, except when we ran through the tree branches on the first turn. Then we decided to spice it up a little more and tied another sled to the one already tied to the four wheeler. It was like a sled train. That was so much fun! We laughed our guts out the whole time. All in all we had a terrific time. I hope we can do it again sometime soon.

Thank you so much Trent, Shelley, Alivia & Ethan for inviting us.

What Would I Do Without You Guys?

Last Friday (December 28th) I was able to get together with some of the girls. Hilary came into town and so of course we had to go out. Hilary, Kim, Shelley and I all got together and had a great night.

We kicked off the night by going to a little store called Sisters and shopped there for some jewelery. This store is darling, if you haven't ever been there find it and go! I of course bought a couple pairs of earrings.
Then we headed over to Garnder Village. We got there around 7 and walked through all the little shops. We laughed and had a great time, and of course had to go into Sweet Afton's and get a little taste of some wonderful fudge. It was amazing!!
After shopping we went and ate at Archibald's Restaurant. We started off with a sampler plate for our appetizer and then all of us ordered the Country Chicken Pasta. We loved it and had a ball laughing at each other and catching up.
With Hilary living out in the middle of nowhere, we don't get to see her very often and miss her so much. There was so much to catch up on with her and we really could have sat there and talked all night.
I honestly don't know what I would do without so many great friends in my life. It's my friends that keep me sane. I just want all of you to know how much I truly appreciate all that each and everyone of you do for me. Even if you do live far away and I never get to see you. Knowing that you're always just a phone call away makes the biggest difference in my life. And for those of you who are close by, I know that I am still functioning with 18 month old twin boys because of all your help, support and love.

Thank you... I love all of you!
