A Day Trip

Today was beautiful, and what's better to do on a gorgeous warm day than go for a ride up into the mountains. That's exactly what we did. We loaded up with the Devey's and Tolboe's, and headed to Mt. Pleasant to see Trent's family's cabin that they're building. The cabin itself is going to be beautiful. I can't wait to see it completed. The lot the cabin is on is amazing too. There's a small stream that runs through it, and there's of course, lots of trees and space for the kids to play. Before we left Kelly told the boys we were going to go play in a "giant sandbox" and that's exactly what they did.

These are some pictures from our trip. Thanks everyone for such a fun day. I hope we get to do it again soon.

Johnson/Mather Family Halloween Party

It is a family tradition to have a Halloween party the Saturday before Halloween every year with Kelly's family. It's one occasion that I really look forward to. I know that we always have a great time with lots of laughter, and lets be honest... who doesn't love dressing up!!

This year was no different. The food was outrageous, and delicious as always. Sharee is an excellent cook, and always makes the food really fun.

Landon made himself right at home with the bowl of nacho cheese. Dipping and licking the same chip over and over again, until he realized there was a spoon.

For those who didn't come in costumes one was created for them. The kids had a great time creating them, and I must say the horns on Neil were a great addition.
Sharee (Grandma Johnson) should have known better! It was her party and rules... then again, maybe she was looking forward to the kids creating her costume.

Dave also got to have his costume created for him. Andrea made sure to include the name of Dave's rival business across his forehead. Maybe next time he'll think twice about not coming in a costume.

Neil (Grandpa Johnson) was another lucky family member that had his costume created for him. The boys made sure to show his Ute pride... this was especially great, because he's not a Ute fan. He's BYU all the way. I personally loved this! Go Utes!!!

Not only did he get branded with the U, he also grew some unexpected horns. Corey made sure to make them perfect. It's amazing how life like they looked.
These were some other family members who came in costume. Unfortunately I didn't get pictures of everyone, but here are a few.
Carter the cowboy with his great puppy
Landon as a cowboy, ready to beat off the bad guys with his PVC pipe
Kim & Jason as Little Red Riding Hood and The Big Bad Wolf
Ryan was a fantastic Army Man... I wouldn't have messed with him!
Kris Anne was a beautiful Princess
My favorite event of the night was, and is always, the doughnut eating contest! Who doesn't love eating a doughnut hanging from a string. Especially when you can't touch it. If you haven't tried it, you should. It's very fun, and funny to watch.

Thanks everyone for making the evening so much fun. We love you all!

Announcing Cayson Jordan Clyde

My sweet sister Morgan delivered her first baby, Cayson Jordan Clyde on Thursday October 23, weighing in at 7 pounds 5 ounces. He was 19 inches long and is a healthy beautiful baby.

I am so proud of you Morgan and want you to know how much I love you and Jordan. I'm so grateful that you get to experience the joys of motherhood. I wish you all the best!

ThE PuMpKiN pAtCh & cOrN mAzE

It's an annual tradition for us to go to a Pumpkin Patch every fall with the kids.

We chose today to go. Shelley, Kim and I loaded up the kids this morning and headed to the best pumpkin patch. They have old tractors the kids can play on and a super fun corn maze for the kids to get lost in.

Landon and Carter had so much fun! They loved running around and climbing on the tractors. It was really cute watching them try to pick up the larger pumpkins. They sure tried hard and I was surprised with some of the ones they were able to pick up.

This is the pumpkin Landon chose.

This is the pumpkin Carter chose.

Landon and Carter had little tiff over who got to drive one of the tractors.

Shelley wheeled the kids and the pumpkins around in the wheel barrel.

We all posed for some cute pictures and had a great time.

Lunch with Tawni & Stella

Last week the boys and I were able to meet up with Tawni and Stella. Tawni and I worked in Executive Banking together and hadn't seen each other since Landon and Carter were three months old. Tawni in the meantime had Stella and so this was the first time I was able to meet her.
We met downtown at Trolley Square, which by the way, is completely under construction and a complete mess. We had lunch at The Old Spaghetti Factory. It was super yummy!

Landon and Carter had macaroni and cheese, applesauce, and sprite. They of course loved the macaroni and cheese, and their sprites, but wouldn't even touch the applesauce again after the first taste. Stella didn't love it either, she gagged when Tawni tried feeding it to her. There must be something about it that the kids just don't love.

Thanks Tawni for a fun lunch. I hope that we don't wait another 2 years before we do it again.

New Twilight Trailer

Ok, so I am officially FREAKING OUT! I have to admit, I have watched the new Twilight Trailer about 20+ times now, and I get even more giddy and excited each time I watch it. This can't possibly be healthy, for me to be this obsessed with a movie. But... to be honest, I couldn't care less. I can not wait for the movie to come out! So for all of you reading this that may think that I am insane, just know that I do not care, sorry! For those of you who are freaking out with me, call me or post about it so we can further discuss. Only 40 days from today, and it's not coming fast enough!

Husband Hunk-O-Rama of the Century Tag!

My cute friend, Jodi tagged me with my very FIRST husband tag! This should be fun!!!

1. Where did you meet your husband? We met at work. We were both working for Zions Bank on Foothill in Salt Lake.

2. How long did you date before you married? 5 months steadily, but we'd know each other and hung out for over a year before we started dating.

3. How long have you been married? 5 years, the time has gone by so fast, and I've loved every minute of it.

4. What does he do that surprises you? Every now and then I get a surprise knock at the door with fresh flowers being delivered to me. Mostly just because, and that makes my day. I love that he takes time to do little things like that for me every now and then.

5. What is his favorite feature? I love Kelly's eyes!

6. What is his favorite quality? He is genuine, and loving. He's always there for me and listens to what I have to say.

7. Does he have a nickname for you? Yes, there are lots. However, the most popular nickname is Humuhnuh. I know it's completely random. It all started when we were first married. He was walking down the hall in our apartment and was saying it over and over again, and then decided it was going to be my name. The funniest part about it is that his whole family now calls me Humuhnuh.

8. What is his favorite food? Mexican. Anything Mexican. The boy would live off of tacos if I would let him. Whenever I ask him what he'd like for dinner, he says tacos. So now I ask what do you want for dinner other than tacos.

9. What is his favorite sport? Football... College Football. Go UTES!!

10. When & where was your first kiss? Kelly first kissed after we'd been dating for a short time. It was after a date on my doorstep. I was shocked, I totally didn't see it coming. I thought he would have been too shy... boy was I wrong!

11. What is your favorite thing to do as a couple? We love to go for drives. We don't do it a whole lot these days, but it's one of our favorite things to do. Especially during the Christmas season, we'll drive around looking for the best and worst lit houses. It's so much fun!

12. Do you have any children? Yes, our two little boys, Landon & Carter!

13. Does he have any hidden talents? Kelly can play the trumpet and piano really well. I only wish he'd do it more.

14. How old is he? 30

15. Who said I love you first? Him, again another shock! We were on my couch talking when he told me. I was so shocked at first, I didn't say anything. He was ready to crawl out of his skin. It was really funny, but he was so sweet. I did say I loved him too, after I recovered.

16. What is his favorite music? Does sports talk radio count? If not... then I would have to say jazz. It's the trumpet player in him.

17. What do you admire most about him? His love for our family, knowledge of the gospel, and willingness to serve others.

18. What is his favorite color? I really don't know that he has a favorite, he likes red of course, and green, and I'm sure blue.

19. Will he read this? If I don't tell him to look at the blog... probably not.

20. Who do you tag? Shelley, Jill, Tawni, Tiffany, Miranda, Emily, Kris Anne, and Morgan

Fall TV

I've been waiting for Premier Week for what seems like forever. I couldn't wait for all the fall shows to start again, and now that I've seen them, I have to say I am so happy! Kelly says that I have way too many shows, (he hates a lot of them that I love) but I really do not care. I have to have something to entertain me during the winter. Right?

Here are all the shows that I love, and what I think so far:

Dancing With The Stars
Love it! So far my favorite couples are Lacey & Lance, Brooke & Derek, and Julianne and Cody. I think Lacey and Lance are fantastic for doing something outside of the box. Cody is darling, and I have been pleasantly surprised with him. Brooke is beautiful of course, and I agree with Bruno, I think that she was born to dance, she just needs a little more training, and technique.

House
At first, I was a little sad that Wilson wasn't playing such a huge roll this season, but I am enjoying the private investigator. It adds something new, and after last season loosing the original interns and getting new ones, I needed a little something extra.

Greek
I know you'll think I am so lame, but this is one of my favorite shows. I love it! I need a show that's cheesy and girly and this fills me up. I love the cast and all the drama. I am so happy that Casey has a new love interest, and really hope that she crushes Frannie. I love Kappy, Rusty, and Beaver, they are hilarious. This is my show that I can't wait for each week. I watch the episodes every night. This is one of the shows that Kelly hates, yet he knows all the names of each of the people on the show, and could tell you what's going on if you were to ask him. I think that he secretly likes it, and is just embarrassed to admit it!

Top Design
This season is a lot different from the 1st season. I'm still deciding if I really love it. I'm having a hard time getting to love the designers on the show. If I had to choose the 5 I think would last the longest at this point, I would have to say Nathan, Andrea, Preston, Natalie and Eddie. Although, I haven't loved everything that they've done. I hope it starts to get a little better.

Private Practice
The premier was great. Shocking, and full of suspense and drama. I felt like it was a good mix of the medicine, the practice and their personal lives. I hope that they'll focus on the practice and medicine a little more than their personal lives this year. It seems like that's where it's headed, and I hope that I am right.

Bones
Love it! I find this show so fascinating. I think forensic anthropology is fascinating, and watching Bones and her team figure things out is great. I'm surprised that Angela and Hodgins called off their engagement, and really hope that they work it out. I love the chemistry between Booth and Bones and hope that one day something good will happen there.

Ugly Betty
Shocking! I didn't quite know what to think of the premier. I was shocked that Betty didn't choose either Henry or Gio. The fact that they were both just cut out like that didn't settle very well with me. I would have thought she would have said that she wanted to just take things slow with at least one of them. The second thing that got me was the fact that she signed a contract on an apartment without even looking at it. That just seems completely out of character for Betty. Player?!! Yeah, I'm glad that got resolved in a quick hurry. Although this wasn't the premier I had hoped for I still love the show, and this is another one that I can't wait to see each week.

Grey's Anatomy
Ahhh... Grey's. The premier was good. I think it's great that Meredith and Mc. Dreamy are moving forward together. Towards the end of last season, I was getting really tired of the back and forth, so I hope that this season it continues to head forward. I loved that Chang and the army doc had such strong chemistry. I was excited for her and then when he left, sad. I hope that at some point in the season he will come back. It was nice to see her intrigued for a little bit by something other than medicine and surgery. This season should be interesting, and I can't wait to see more of my prime time soap opera.

The Office
Uncomfortable as always! Yet so hilarious at the same time. Kelly and I watch this show every week and laugh our butts off. I can't believe how Michael can make my skin crawl. I'm sad that Pam is away, yet so happy that Jim finally proposed! I hope that everything stays positive with them. I would be really irritated if they didn't.

30 Rock
Still waiting for October 30th for the season premier. . .

Supernanny
Season premier is this week! Can't wait for some more parenting advice! Heaven knows I'm going to need it.
